MOSS Terms of Use

Effective date: 2026-09-12 ยท Last updated: 15 October 2026

These Terms govern your use of the MOSS app and services, operated by Lim Jin Shao (trading as MOSS) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using MOSS you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use MOSS.

1. What MOSS is โ€” and is not

MOSS captures commitments you speak or type, remembers them, and reminds you at the moment they matter. It is an organizational tool.

2. Your account

You need to sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address to use MOSS. You must be at least 18 years old. MOSS is intended for adults only. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Pricing

4. Your content

Your captures and everything derived from them are yours. You grant us only the licence needed to operate MOSS: to store, process (including via the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy), and return your content to you. We do not use your content for advertising or model training, and we claim no ownership.

You agree not to use MOSS to store or transmit unlawful content, to attack or overload the service, to reverse-engineer it except where law permits, or to resell it without our agreement.

5. Availability and changes

MOSS is under active development. Features may change, and reasonable efforts notwithstanding, the service may occasionally be unavailable. The app tries to save a capture on the phone first, including while offline. If a capture cannot be saved, the app shows an error. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or storage without loss. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice for material changes.

The beta is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. A beta build can stop working when it expires or when you are removed from the beta, and it can contain bugs. Keep a separate copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

6. Termination

You can stop using MOSS at any time and delete your account in Settings. A completed deletion removes your account and its personal records from the active database. It does not delete Apple Calendar events, captures still only on the phone, backup or provider copies, a request another person already received, or the sign-in, rate-limit and device safety records the Privacy Policy lists. Safety reports can remain for the period described in the Privacy Policy. If deletion does not complete, the app says so and does not treat the account as deleted. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or threaten the service, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive (your content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

7. Disclaimers and liability

MOSS is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages โ€” including missed reminders, missed meetings, or losses arising from acting on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
